Flag of California |
Hey dudes and girls! Our assignment this week is to write about an American state. I chose California because i think it's an interesting and cool state!
California's nickname is "the golden state", this is because there was found gold there in 1848 and because of the yellow poppy flowers who cover the state in the spring.
-its population is about 40 million people
-the average household income is 63 600$ a year!
-California's governor is Jerry Brown
-its largest city is Los Angeles (LA)
If California were a country it would be the 6th largest economy in the world! And is the USA's third largest economic state, only topped by New Jersey and Maryland!
If you visit California there are some stunning views and attractions.
The #1 visited place is Yosemite National Park, it is in Northern California and is one of the USA's most famous national parks. Yosemite Valley, carved by the glaciers during the last ice age, is Yosemite National park's center.

El Capitán |
One of the most famous sites in the park is the sheer rock face of El Capitán. Other must see sights in the park are the Cathedral Spires, Sentinel Dome and Sentinel Rock, Half Dome, the lookout from Glacier Point, and the beautiful view of Yosemite Falls from Eagle Peak, and the highest peak of the Three Brothers.
Interesting stuff! Hodor my friend, hodor..
ReplyDeleteI like that you higlight the astonishing nature in Yosemite park instead of the more commonly chosen beaches. California is so much more than beach life! But a bit too touristy for me.
