Typical american things from my point of view and some symbols
Hey dudes and girls! Today i'm going to talk about some typical american cultural traits, stereotypes and symbols!
For me the typical American is a fat guy looking at american football while drinking beer and eating burgers from McDonald's. This is the impression i have gotten from the internet. But, American Hollywood movies say the complete opposite! That Americans are complete bad asses!!
On the internet you hear a lot about American gun-violence, school shootings and murders. It's incredibly easy to get a gun in the USA. To get one they need information like; name, address, place of birth, race and citizenship. A social security number is only "optional", though it's recommended.

Most Americans simply love their country and think it's the best, and that's a good thing as long as it doesn't go too far :P. The american flag (also called "the stars and stripes) is a symbol of independence and hope. Americans are very prod of their national flag! It was actually modified 26 times in the period 1777-1960.

Another symbol is the bald eagle; the US national emblem. The eagle represents freedom. Benjamin Franklin actually wanted the turkey to be America's national emblem, he thought of the turkey as a bird of courage and a true native American bird. He called the bald eagle a cowardly and lazy, but it was still chosen as the national emblem of the USA.

Thank you for reading my post! I hope it was interesting for you! Come again later for more interesting posts about the USA!
Interesting that you mention gun control! I read on CNN that even though you have to fill out a form, less than 1% does not get to purchase the weapon. That's not a real background check if you ask me. Do you think Trump will change the 2nd. amendment?
ReplyDeleteI really have no clue! I will do some research for myself! :)
